Bug Description
Setting vm-sort-subthreads is supposed to sort the threads by their root messages and the rest in a linear way without reference to the subthreads.
It is not clear that it is working correctly. For example, here is a particular sort-order observed:
3783 11/3 <email address hidden> 304 Re: Email dangers portrayed in media
->3784+3 * 11/3 Tim Cross 2276 Re: Email dangers portrayed in media
3785 11/3 Julian Bradfield 854 Re: Email dangers portrayed in media
In reality, 3783 is a response to 3785, but it is shown preceding 3784 (the visible root of the thread).
If vm-sort-subthreads is t, everything works normally.

Hmm, the Launchpad web site is compressing whitespace. So, the Summary display doesn't look like Summary display any more. Check the email notification message.
