Bug Description

Problem seems to have happened in the last few days, possible due to different networking equipment in use here at UDS?

In desperation, I shut down wlan0, rmmod'ed e1000e and reversed the operation. This generated an Oops and didn't fix the problem:

You wireless driver is iwlwifi. The e1000e driver is for your wired network interface. Did you apply any updates while here at UDS?

Can you see if disabling N works around your issue?

This can be done by adding:
options iwlwifi 11n_disable=1
to
/etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf

for me: as always when adding the options iwlwifi 11n_disable=1 the problem is gone
but this isn't the prefered solution

James Hunt, as per http://download.lenovo.com/express/ddfm.html an update is available for your BIOS (1.42). If you update to this, does it change anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Thank you for your understanding.
