Bug Description
Any attempt to install and use an Nvidia driver on 64-bit Ubuntu 12.10 will result in a locked system following a reboot and logon.

In addition, if the kernel is upgraded then nvidia driver needs to be reinstalled in order for its modules to be rebuilt.
