Bug Description

I migrated to Ubuntu 12.04 and installed HPLIP 3.12.10. When I run the HP toolbox from the menu (accessories - HP device manager), I get an "internal error". When I run hp-toolbox from the command line, I get the following:

user@machine:~$ hp-toolbox

HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 3.12.10)
HP Device Manager ver. 15.0

Hi,

Thanks for reporting the issue in HPLIP. There is a known bug in HPLIP 3.12.10 which is fixed in 3.12.10a. So please follow following things.
=> Download and install the latest HPLIP (3.12.10a) release from
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html (automatic installer) or
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/index.html (manual installation, if automatic installer is not supported)

=> run "hp-check --fix" command in the terminal if manual installation is done

=> Reconfigure print queue with the commands in the terminal mentioned below.
       => system-config-printer (remove all print queues)
      => sudo hp-plugin (This will download right plugin)
       => hp-setup (It should not be run in a root mode. This command is adding print queue, make sure you select ppd name having "-ps" or "hpcups" substring)
=>Try printing now.

On booting (not with printer switched on) I always get an error message concerning /usr/share/hplip/config_usb_printer.py and nothing seems to affect this (opting to ignore the message works once but it reappears). I have seen other references suggesting that it should not appear in hplip later than 3.12.5, but I have it on 3.15.5.
