Tried to upgrade in Terminal and then with upgrader, both crashed with same error messages.

I have the same error message and can't upgrade to 12.10. Has anyone resolved this issue?

Good news, I was able to upgrade from 12.04 to 12.10 via terminal, using the command "sudo update-manager -d".
