 r629 g_thread_init() is deprecated as of glib 2.32. Remove the use of it at compile time and check if it's needed at runtime. Fixes LP: #970885.

It should be noted that the existing version of pidgin-skype in the repositories does not work at all due to a bug which was fixed. So if there is a possibility to put a high priority on this, it would be great.
