feisty (7.04) install stops at 88% "Importing documents and settingd ..."

windows vista 32bit home premium installed

When running Feisty installer, it stops at 88% on "Importing documents and settings"

Need the date you downloaded the CD/DVD image; as well have you tried more than once?

apr 14, early morning, and yes, i tried more than once

however,
i fixed it later by following advice from another post and sudoing the most recent ubiquity.

Newer daily builds do not have this issue.

duplicate bug of #99004 and #97536 fyi.

i also had this problem. an earlier gutsy disk i had doesn't have this problem, and lets you choose whether to use import manager or not.

for those too lazy to read the link:

run "ubiquity --no-migration-assistant" in a terminal or press alt-f2
you might need to shut down ubiquity first (i did) in order to get it running, so in a terminal run "pkill ubiquity"

anyway, its "sudo pkill ubiquity" and "sudo ubiquity --no-migration-assistant", in hindsight
