Bug Description

hp dv2310 laptop
windows vista 32bit home premium installed

When running Feisty installer, it stops at 88% on "Importing documents and settings"

apr 14, early morning, and yes, i tried more than once

however,
i fixed it later by following advice from another post and sudoing the most recent ubiquity.

duplicate bug of #99004 and #97536 fyi.

i also had this problem. an earlier gutsy disk i had doesn't have this problem, and lets you choose whether to use import manager or not.

for those too lazy to read the link:

run "ubiquity --no-migration-assistant" in a terminal or press alt-f2
you might need to shut down ubiquity first (i did) in order to get it running, so in a terminal run "pkill ubiquity"

eh? there is no edit button? fail.

anyway, its "sudo pkill ubiquity" and "sudo ubiquity --no-migration-assistant", in hindsight
