I have been having a problem similar to this. The only difference is, is the visible cursor stays where it is and the "clickable" part separates from the visible part of the cursor. I am running Mint 14.1 Mate on an HP dc7700. Core 2 Duo 1.43 GHz on board Intel graphics. I have not changed anything as this is a brand new install. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
