Bug Description

Binary package hint: uswsusp

To Reproduce on my updated feisty system (kubuntu):

Boot the system fresh
initiate suspend to disk
resume
initiate suspend to disk
resume

At this point I'm unable to unlock the session, kill the session with [ctrl]+[alt]+[bksp], or use [ctrl]+[alt]+[del] to reboot the computer.

This behavior started some time after I switched to feisty. Its quite possible it was immediately upon switching to feisty but I didn't know how to reproduce it until today with kernel 2.6.20-15

dberg@ubuntu:~$ uname -a
Linux ubuntu 2.6.20-15-generic #2 SMP Sat Apr 14 00:54:01 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

I'm experiencing the exact same issue. The system will not respond to mouse or keyboard input after a second hibernation.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta?

That computer died and I'm currently using Debian, so I can't say.

I have this problem since 8.10 rc(-ish), didn't happen while I ran hardy or in intrepid beta (upgraded on Oct 5). However, it also occurs when I DON'T use uswsusp.

Oh, forgot to mention it doesn't happen every time, only about 20% of the time or so (still very annoying). I have yet to find a common cause...
