Selecting keyboard layout hangs up the system

When installing (or try to) feistyfawn (Xubuntu desktop, Ubuntu desktop, Ubuntu alternate) on my computer I need to select my keyboard layout (Belgium). After pressing the F-key I get a screen I can't use and my system hangs.

It IS possible to select another "visual" keyboard layout (not the one I need because that's not on the screen) but the screen stays unusable.

So, are you referring to the CD boot menu? Can you tell me precisely what keys you press to get into this state, so that I can reproduce it?

It's indeed the boot menu from cd. (yesterdays builts) Pressing the F3
function key to select the keyboard layout, gives a terrible screen on
which selection of the Belgian keyboard layout is impossible.

It is possible to select another layout, but the blurred screen remains
so you also cannot see anything from the boot menu anymore.

I downloaded XUbuntu desktop, Ubuntu desktop and Ubuntu alternate and
they all had it.
