Bug Description

After installing the 12.10 upgrade, Virtual Box running W XP has no connection to the network. This is new, as the installation of 12.10 has correct access. VBox never had the problem. I think it may be because of the new kernel 3.5.0-16 generic. It is also possible, that the VBox needs to be recompiled. Unfortunately I do not know the ocrrect command to do so.

Can be temporarily fixed this way:

Open a terminal and try this:

VBoxManage modifyvm "VMNamexxx" --natdnshostresolver1 on

VMNamexxx is the name of your VM machine.

Check Launchpad #211727, It has a fix.

Make sure you have started VBox, as that is the only way to get access to the 'settings'

Thanks for the suggestion. In fact I did what Scelt suggested and it works now. But at least I have another solution now too!
