I used eqonomize on Kubuntu Dapper but since I upgraded to Feisty I can open eqonomize the first time. Opening the eqz results in above mentioned backtrace. The next time I start the file is opened automatically and eqonomize crashes right away.
Removing the file settings in ~user/.kde/share/config/eqonomizerc it starts again but on openening the .eqz it crashes again......

I had this problem, too. While playing around, I found that not all files trigger this error. I went into my old file with a text editor and removed the <schedule> tags that appeared around some transactions. (I'd never used scheduled transactions in Eqonomize, so it seemed fishy. No idea how it relates to the bug, though.) Anyway, when I saved the file w/o the extra <schedule> tags, it worked OK again.

I hope this helps.

Thx.

But as you good guess in 4 months I solved this another way. "Old fashioned" spreadsheet....
Maybe I will try some day, but kinda busy at the moment.

thx again.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 beta?

My guess is, 'no'. I had this issue on migration from Dapper to Feisty, as did the original poster. I removed extra <schedule> tags (see my post above), and they've not cropped-up again since. Nor has eqonomize crashed on startup.

That's not to say that a file that was corrupted in that way from a previous version wouldn't crash the current one, I guess...

I am sorry, but due to a overloaded work schedule I did not use eqonomize for half a year any more. If I am in the opportunity I will test and let you know is applicable.

Thanks.
