Bug Description

Binary package hint: galternatives

After installing galternatives there's no entry in the applications or system menus even though there is a .desktop file inside

/usr/share/applications/galternatives.desktop

Shouldn't there be a start entry?

Hi there,
does your debdiff also contain an icon, I just made a similar/duplicate entry which I have marked as duplicate of this error.

Hi Shirish Agarwal.
No, my debdiff doesn't contain an icon at this time. Thanks for your message, I doesn't know that galternatives need/haven't one. I will upload a new debdiff whith an icon :)

I've unsubscribed ubuntu-universe-sponsors pending the updated debdiff with both the .desktop and icon. Please resubscribe when the patch is ready (or contact me if you have any questions).

After installing galternatives there is a meny entry at least in K-menu with an icon (/usr/share/pixmaps/galternatives.xpm).

Thanks for checking. I don't see an menu entry under GNOME (galternatives 0.13.4 & gnome menus 2.19.2-0ubuntu1). Perhaps this is GNOME specific?

I too ran into this problem. Simply removing the empty TryExec line from galternatives.desktop fixes it.
