Operative System Lubuntu 12.04 powerpc
System iBook G4 powerpc (1.42GHZ, 1GB RAM)
package gecko-mediaplayer 1.0.6 testing version
Packages involved gnome-mplayer 1.0.6 testing version
Firefox 14.01 (Ubuntu canonical 1.0).
I have built packages locally (with expert help) for testing purposes. Powerpc have had the same trouble with 1.0.5 packages in Precise Pangolin repository. The same bug is found in 1.0.6 testing packages.
Description: gnome-mplayer and gecko-media player do not play embedded in browser. I have spend days trouble shooting and no solution found. Packages are broken for powerpc. These are functions that work fine with half the specs on the i386 install CD.
By its` self gnome mplayer 1.0.6 works fine with dvd, files stored on hd, and with web streams opened from terminal.
There is a related issue for powerpc with gnome mlpayer, gecko and the firefox plugin Flash Video Replacer. It does not work with browser embedded play either. With sites like youtube mplayer will only stream as stand alone player.

edit correction; I have formulated myself a bit unclear. the 1.0.6 packages are the released packages avaliable in backports. With a bit of help form ubuntu-packaging I was able to download packages and build them on 12.04.
