Bug Description

I`ve been trying for weeks to get media players to work in lubuntu 12.04 powerpc iso. The default gnome mplayer - gecko setup works for regular 32 bit lubuntu, but not the powerpc version. I have an iBook G4 with 512MB RAM, 1.42GHz cpu and it does not stream sites it really should be able to. I`ve spent hours on irc getting expert help, but no solution found. I hope very much there is a developer and tester on the lubuntu team that still care about powerpc builds. My ibook G4 is still very nice to work on, and works with everything except for media players in browser.

Regardless of all the erorr messages and warnings this apple commercial video streams perferctly, clear picture, audio in sync.

Can it be som enconding gecko/gecko can`t handle properly? Gnome/mplayer setup setup works all fine on these sites in i386 iso.

I did file a separate bugreport for the 1.0.6 packages from Quantal, but someone removed it. I added extra info in this bug report, even though it is new version of gnome mplayer and gecko-mediaplayer, and firefox 14.01 (ubuntu canonical 1.0). I hope it is useful even though it is a bit messy.

It was not removed, it is marked as a duplicate so as to hold all the
information of what we guess is a related issue. Once the devs have had a
look, they can seperate it back out if they wish.

Regards,

Phill.
