USB drives not recognized in new kernel 2.6.20-9-generic

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20

Will not place automatically on desktop... including iPod. Tried Sandisk mini, memorex generic, and generic usb hard drive. Works with previous kernel.

Meant to type 14 instead of 9... all these things work okay in -9 although it is removed from my grub list.

Could you please download and try the new version of Ubuntu from http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download and report back your results. If the issue is still present in the new release, please attach the following information:

* uname -a > uname-a.log
* cat /proc/version_signature > version.log
* dmesg > dmesg.log
* sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log

I stopped having an issue after the kernel 2.6.20-9-generic
