Bug Description

Magic Assistant is an application that helps "Magic: the Gathering" (MTG) players in different activities related to the game: currently contains Card Organizer and Tournament Organizer.
Homepage: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/mtgbrowser/index.php?title=Main_Page

I was able to install and run this package on Arch Linux using AUR when I still used that flavor of Linux:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=59032

In my case, xulrunner 1.9.2 was a dependency, and I haven't been able to find a debian package to install it, so that is something that would need to be solved before being able to add it to any repository if it won't run without it.

Hi Christoph,

Have not seen this package coming up in the package list on the site
and can't find it with apt-cache (I'n running Xubuntu 12.04 LTS). Am I
doing something wrong?

Cheers,

John

Be sure to have the repository installed:
http://www.playdeb.net/updates/Ubuntu/11.10#how_to_install

Also run "sudo apt-get update".

It is definitely there:

Hi Christoph,

It works now, thanks! For reasons beyond me, I only had the 'apps'
repo, not the 'games' repo.

Cheers and thanks for all the help,

John

Followed by a window labeled Magicassistant with no contents (a Ctrl+c is needed to force close the program at this point)

I took an strace of the process (including the Ctrl+x), but nothing is jumping out at me from the file system level as to why it is hanging with a blank window (strace is attached).

I also tried switching between openJDK 6 and sunJava 6 with no change in behaviour.

For verification, I am using the package that was refferenced earlier in this bug:
sudo apt-cache showpkg magicassistant
Package: magicassistant
