Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1036661/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Firstly, thank you for reporting this bug and make Ubuntu better.

with "i lose everything on the desktop" do you mean, the icon disappear (but with a reboot they came back) or your file is deleted?
next, do you use Ubuntu with the default desktop environment (Unity)? the 3d or 2d version?

i think this problem is related to the file manager, so can you run this command in order to collect information on your system and attach in this bug automatically?

apport-collect -p nautilus 1036661

without those informations we can't go ahead, so the bug still incomplete.

Changed in ubuntu:
status: New → Incomplete

so this is a nautilus issue.

to run the command open the dash, look for "terminal". Once you open the terminal type in the shell:
apport-collect -p nautilus 1036661
this take some moments.

affects: ubuntu → nautilus (Ubuntu)
Mattia Rizzolo (mapreri)
summary: - doesn't recognise usb stick
+ Nautilus crashes when open an USB stick

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit.
If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

What do I do now?
Thanks
