Bug Description

After today's kernel upgrade to 3.2.0-27-generic-pae, my CIFS shares won't mount. It still works with kernel 3.2.0-26-generic-pae.

Symptoms:
* command-line mount such as "sudo mount -t cifs //server1/TestData /mnt/server/TestData -o username=peterd,password=<mypassword>,uid=peterd,rw,_netdev" is stuck
* dmesg shows CIFS mount errors

Workaround: revert to older kernel.

Peter De Maeyer, as per http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/Product/precision-t3500 an update is available for your BIOS (A17). If you update to this, does it change anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Thank you for your understanding.
