Bug Description

Binary package hint: adept-manager

As usual. I installed the current upgradeable packages through adept... But this time, after the full upgrade, I got the following message:

"A new version of Kubuntu is available! Click next if you wish to upgrade now."

However, the 'next' button is disabled.

Do you have edgy-proposed in your sources.list?
Maybe that is why you are getting the message since the dist-upgrade option is being tried out.

If yes, please let us know so this bug can be closed.
Thank you.

Hi!

As far as I remember, I have not modified that file since I installed Kubuntu Feisty... Anyways, it's attached.

Thanks!

This happens to me too.

spooky@ZXSpectrum:~$ cat /etc/issue
Ubuntu feisty (development branch) \n \l

Same thing here. Feisty was a clean install for me, so no edgy-proposed. Furthermore, if I do sudo apt-get dist-upgrade there is nothing to upgrade (actually no changes to be done at all).

This has now changed a bit for me: Now where I would expect there to be "Next" button is "Version Upgrade" and when I press that, I get another window. However that other window soon tells me there is no release announcement to be found.
Again sudo apt-get -s dist-upgrade shows nothing upgradeble.

When I hit the Version upgrade, then the Next Button, I receive the error message "Could not download the release announcement. Please check that your internet connection is active." The network connection is, of course, working properly.

The same problem here, as explained by Lynoure and Dorin.
