padre, please don't change the status without an explanation.

This is happening because the symlinks that the DistUpgrade module uses to find the janitor module (and the NvidiaDetector module) are not being installed by the package.

i am using 12.10 but the software crashed after partial upgrade
tried apt-get upgrade -f but got the following error -- > E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Installed Ubuntu quantal 12.10 and clicked on Software Updater -> "do partial upgrade" and it crashed. It does not allow me to do partial upgrade, same error.

I've been able to partial upgrade without problems in quantal. I'm not sure how to reproduce.
