Bug Description

In gpsbabelfe from gpsbabel-gui 1.4.2-3, if the "Preview in Google Maps" option is checked, the following error box is displayed:

        Missing "gmapbase.html" file. Check installation.

From strace, the file is being read from /usr/bin.

Since I don't know how to configure the directory, if it is at all possible, I copied the file into /usr/bin, which fixed the problem.

Here is the URL for the missing html file:

http://gpsbabel.googlecode.com/svn-history/r4163/trunk/gpsbabel/gui/gmapbase.html

This file is not in the package.

Since Google Code is now dead, the project has been moved to GitHub and the URL of the file is:

https://github.com/gpsbabel/gpsbabel/blob/master/gui/gmapbase.html

However this file is present in the source tarball and is however missing from the gpsbabel-gui package.

This is a debian folder error.

I will recompile it in my soon to be GPS PPA.

This bug was fixed in the package gpsbabel - 1.6.0+ds-10

---------------
gpsbabel (1.6.0+ds-10) unstable; urgency=medium

  * [a1fdee8] Install gmapbase.html.
    Also patch a useful path into gpsbabelfe. (LP: #1015886)

Instead of creating a PPA you could open a bug in Debian, then it would have been fixed earlier.
