Do you mean that the sender is not displayed? I don't see any way of displaying *both* sender and subject in the Messaging Menu, subject strings themselves are too wide so we have to truncate them, so it's impossible to add the sender there…

Any suggestions?

Changed in unity-mail:
status: New → Incomplete
importance: Undecided → Wishlist

Do you mean it needs to show the account number (like: "New mail in account 2 from <email address hidden>")? If so, I can add such an option in one of future releases…

Yes, displaying account name (which is simply a e-mail address) is also possible.

Not sure when I'll be able to look at this (probably after 1.0 release), but marking as Triaged for now.

I've added such an option in revision 304 of lp:unity-mail.

To enable it, open the configuration file (~/.config/unity-mail.conf) and under the [General] section, add line "AccountDisplay = %LOGIN% at %HOST%" (without quotes). This will make your account name be appended to message notifications.

You can set any other string there, %LOGN% and %HOST% variables will be replaced with the respective data.

Changed in unity-mail:
assignee: nobody → Dmitry Shachnev (mitya57)
status: Triaged → Fix Committed
