[precise] Window controls in upper right corner when button layout is modified

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit with the standard Unity desktop. The window controls (minimize, maximize, close) are in the upper right corner for normal windows, and in the upper left for maximized windows. I installed this system from scratch and I haven't changed the theme or anything like that.

That's odd, did you switch to GNOME Shell or something? Also, do you have this issue in a guest session?

I only log in normally as my normal user, with standard, default Unity desktop. It's my work machine where I have a lot of VM's running, so I rarely reboot or log out, I think my machine has been running without reboot for several days. This happened a week or two ago, and I think it was solved (temporarily) with a restart.

Probably was a temporary Compiz issue or something. Very odd though. If it happens again, please re-open bug. Thanks!

Reboot did _not_ fix it, I was wrong. I fixed it by installing gconf-editor and setting apps->metacity->general->button_layout to close,minimize,maximize, it was set to menu:maximize,minimize,close. This only happens when button layout has been modified, as I found out.

I was running Precise but just upgraded to Quantal and I started facing this issue.
