Bug Description

After starting Ubuntu the "Start" icon of the launcher does always look blue (screenshot attached) and the theme of dash is black. This gets fixed temporarily (until next Unity boot) by changing the wallpaper.

your logs suggest you are not using the stock version of unity rather a forked version (a la minimize on click). Even though your issue is quite different from that change.

Can you please tell if the bug you are facing happens with every wallpaper or is it specific to the default wallpaper that come with ubuntu? could have a similarity to bug 963140

I am not using default wallpapers. The issue is not happening always, just sometimes. When it happens, changing screen resolution or changing the wallpaper to any other and then setting it back to the original one fixes the weird blue color around the start button and the black on the dash.

I have uninstalled the forked version of unity and it is still happening sometimes. Now, my version is: unity-5.12-0ubuntu1.1 (precise updates)
