NetworkManager high CPU usage while nm-applet and Transmission run

Bug Description

If I leave my computer downloading overnight using BitTorrent client Transmission, I notice the next day that the NetworkManager process is eating up lots of CPU power. It gets immediately fixed if I kill nm-applet, although when I relaunch nm-applet CPU usage skyrockets again. Killing Transmission doesn't affect anything. I'm not sure there is a relation between Transmission and this issue, I just mention it because I only leave my computer on overnight when I download torrents.

Same Issue here.
when I start transmission, network-manager, deja-dup and whooise runs at high CPU level.

I haven't been able to replicate this again. Just close the report. It may have been fixed upstream or something.

Just upgraded yesterday from 10.04LTS to 12.04 using XFCE. Have experienced an identical problem : as soon as Transmission is started, network-manager starts running the CPU at over 60%. Without Transmission, I've noticed no such problem.

High Network usage 98-100% usage one one core or another shown by nm-applet for File Manager process(root) when running jDownloader, and http file transfer (upload) with nautilus and files are being transferred. Closed Transmission after reading this bug report, but now change in File Manager CPU usage. Cores on a dual core processor switch roles periodically, but one or the other runs constantly at 100% according to the nm-applet.

Ubuntu 12.04.1 install with curr (to date) updates.

I have the exact same problem! I killed nm-applet and NetworkManager to bring my CPU usage back down.
This was clearly due to Transmission, because I never had this problem until I started seeding a torrent with Transmission.

No one appears to be interested in fixing desktop *nix bugs anymore, maybe beacuse of the smartphone/tablet fad.

Does this possibly have something to do with hardware? I have NVIDIA MCP61 chipset.

Yesterday I changed my internet provider. And I saw the same problem. Before I used PPPoE connection and i didn't have this problem. Now I use simple wired connection and Network Manager load CPU when I use internet, not only P2P.

Sorry, I was wrong. Problem occured only with start transmission
I'v solved my problem. I used ppa:mathieu-tl/nm and update network manager from 0.9.4.0-0ubuntu4.1 to 0.9.4.0-0ubuntu4.2.
