Bug Description

I have a linksys WMP600N PCI WIFI card. With Ubuntu 11.10 it worked fine. After updating my system via dis-upgrade, i have realized that, it stop working in a short time.
It is done in the middle of a download for example, which drive me mad :(
Im using network manager, and if i disable/reenable it is working again for a short time.

Ive also tried with mainline kernel - 3.4.0 RC6 (in this bug report i use the normal one.)

Regards,
Krisztian

Krisztian Tekler, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.5-rc1-quantal/ that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.

Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance.

The upstream kernel does not boot.

Previosly ive tested it with 3.4.0 RC6 (see #997745).
With that kernel, the bug exists.

Krisztian Tekler, the next step is to perform a bisect to identify the offending commit(s). Could you please do so following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection ?

I'm also experiencing this issue with the WMP600N. It's too bad that these bug reports keep expiring!

To add to the info, the WMP600N does seem to work as long as I reconnect. I have a dual band router, so as soon as it drops I just choose the other band's SSID. It will often work for a while and then drop again.
