Bug Description
I tried resolving this issue in post:
http://
and re-iterated below:
I followed the installation instructions at:
http://
In Step 3 it states "...To install Ubuntu, all you need to do is choose your user name and password..."
so I entered a username [not equal to Administrator as shown and set to "gmseed"] and password.
However, when I complete installation and reboot the m/c I'm faced with either logging on as "Administrator" or "Guest Session". I found this very confusing.
You may view this as not a bug but if a user enters a username such as "gmseed" they expect it to be listed at startup. Also, it's using my "gmseed" user account password as the "Administrator" password.
I've not continued with this issue because of another bug of the CPU fan continually overruning, which I've also logged as a bug. Thus, I've not had a enjoyable Ubuntu installation experience and forced to revert to Win7.
Thanks
Graham
Ubuntu does not use a root account, so your user is automatically given admin permissions when using sudo. Maybe that is confusing you? https:/ /help.ubuntu. com/community/ RootSudo
