Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

I tried this with Ubuntu 8.04 alpha 6. (kernel 2.6.24-12-generic)
Wammu crashes when searching for a bluetooth phone automatically.
This is after I installed libbtctl4 and python-libbtctl 0.9.0-2. Before installing these it didn't work and asked for them.

I am using a Sony Ericsson k700i, it is paired with my computer and i can browse the files and transfer them.
(there is no difference when the device is set as trusted.)

I am using a D-Link USB bluetooth adapter, DBT-120.

This is no longer a problem for me after installing python-bluez and bluez-btsco. I am not sure if bluez-btsco was needed but I installed both at the same time so this is what I'm reporting.

had the same with hardy 8.04, installing python-bluez solved it for me, seems to be a missing dependency

python-libbtctl causes crashes and that's the reason why newer Wammu versions (since 0.26) have dropped support for it and it supports only python-bluez.
