Same problem on my HP nx9420 with Ubuntu 10.04 (Linux ameise 2.6.32-22-generic #36-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jun 3 22:02:19 UTC) 2010 i686 GNU/Linux

10:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network Connection (rev 02)

I installed the package: linux-backports-modules-wireless-lucid-generic, but it doesn't work.
At first, the speed is ok (500-800kB/s) after some seconds/minutes i've speed of 100-120kB/s.
