I think I misunderstood the goal of the Lauter Deadspace, so it has nothing to see with my point.

What I want is more to be added in the wish list category. The thing is that I have a space underneath my false bottom that cannot be a room for the grain during mashing, so I need to add at least this volume of water in addition of the volume of water the grain will be soaking in. I realize later that regardless to the mash thickness, this volume should be taken into account into the mash wizard.
It could give the minimum mash thickness that include this volume of water.

Vg = Volume of water in which the grain is steeped
Vb = Volume of water underneath the false bottom
W = Weight of grain

Mash Thickness = (Vg + Vd) / W

Vg has a minimal value (1.25 qt/lb ?) for the grain to be fully soaked, so the minimal mash thickness should be:

Minimal Mash Thickness = (Vg_min + Vd) / W

It should be very nice to have a feature like that not have to calculate it by hand.
