While in KDE, I have determined that applications started by the session(I log out with Kopete and Konsole open, I log back in, the applications I had last open restart(Kopete and Konsole)) no longer have the attribute which bamf can pick up for the .desktop

Also, If I start something like Qalculate, it can find it. Here is part of the output of a small program Boulabiar created that I used

** (process:785): DEBUG: current file
** (process:785): DEBUG: Konsole
** (process:785): DEBUG: current file /usr/share/applications/qalculate_kde.desktop
** (process:785): DEBUG: Qalculate!

the "current file" appears for the .desktop file on every application started by the session.

This bug is still active in 11.10 (0.2.104-0ubuntu1.2). GNU Emacs 23.3.1

Emacs is not correctly recognized:

when launching e.g. from the commandline with "emacs" the output of the above pasted program is:

** (process:15397): DEBUG: current file
** (process:15397): DEBUG: emacs@schwarz-UL30A

However, a launcher entry is created which works (focus, arrows, etc).

BUT, when launching from the dash or from the command line with the full path "/usr/bin/emacs23", the output is this:

** (process:15734): DEBUG: current file /usr/share/applications/emacs23.desktop
** (process:15734): DEBUG: GNU Emacs 23

BUT: no launcher entry is created!
