I also noticed that if libreoffice is not maximized, it seems to work just fine. So if I open my odp file, unmaximze, close, reopen (unmaximized), I get the right impress launcher icon, and the window comes to front when I click on the launcher icon.
But if the application is maximized, it will fail (with generic libreoffice icon, or question mark icon + impress icon) most of the time...
