This was written two weeks ago and it seems that the standard
distribution of Ubuntu 12.04 still does not contain the fix (with both
precise-updates and precise-proposed included in the software sources).
Which packages should be updated actually?
Off topic: Regarding the Super+W workaround (Super+W invokes the scale
plugin in Compiz) I can say I don't like the way it works. Please,
have a look at bug #1050666 and if you think that the scale plugin
should work differently mark that you are also affected.
