I've completly reinstalled my computer (Thinkpad T61 with nvidia) over the weekend. As for now the problem desapeared (and I hope it will stay that way). As mentioned above, I think that at a certain moment, I had two different video players open at the same time and this triggered the problem. Now everything is fine again, so probably it would do to just replace a certain file with the original one (instead of reinstalling the whole system). The question is just which file.
