I have hand-installed fglrx-updates, and now it's almost ok for me - I just have the glitches on pop-up tips and ayatana scroll bars, but it's usable and quite fast. Using that now, let's see.
Jockey (additional hardware) continue to think that no additional driver is installed. Trying to "activate" it will break everything, and I need a reboot to have accelerated graphics back.
