@Frej: According to packages.ubuntu.com Lucid contains already libv4l 0.6.4.

can you please post the output of the following commands?
dpkg -l libv4l-0
cat /sys/class/dmi/id/board_vendor
cat /sys/class/dmi/id/board_name
lsusb -v
