I confirm,
the update to unity-settings-daemon 14.04.0+14.04.20151122-0ubuntu1ppa1 did solved the issues for me too.

Hotkeys didn't work in Russian layout in ThinkingRock and Freemind (both are using Java), but now everything is fine.
