Funny enough, if I edit /etc/xdg/autostart/backintime.desktop and I change:
Terminal=false
to:
Terminal=true

running the desktop file with kioclient makes the password cache starts correctly!

The side effect is there's an ugly terminal window that opens and closes at session start.
