the currently configured way to put a window half left or half right is super+left or super+right, however you can change that in CCSM (i changed back to ctrl-alt-4 ctrl-alt-6 until there is a coherent way to manage all the stuff without numpad), look at the binding part of the grid plugin.

still no cycling, howether, i think that's gone forever :(
