I read the whole story all 182 comments, by now, but:
It's ridiculous that this inconsitency between man page and real functionality is still in 11.04. This is again an indicator that ubuntu tries to copy MAC OSX which also forces their users to "what's best for them". Maybe DRM is also a good idea, or that you need an extra app for shitting in the woods!
BTW: what a infantile debate between USER and DEVELOPER, boundaries are fluid!
