The glow feature has always been downstream (Ubuntu) only. It was never accepted in upstream Conpiz.

We should check with design to see if they want it back. I think it would be better to live without the glow and just improve the brightness/saturation settings we use in expo.

We need to add it back, it is part of the design.

OK then, but it's not a bug for Compiz. The functionality never existed so it's an enhancement (Wishlist).

This bug will still need to be fixed when we implement 'the spread' ( http://design.canonical.com/the-toolkit/unity-task-switching/ ), the bug above is a stopgap measure.

vanvugt,

This bug is also present in Precise. Sometimes expo's borders appear and sometimes not. Are you going to release a fix for Precise as well?

Incomplete. I'm not sure what fixed this in quantal, if it is fixed at all. I know there's a similar issue if you have wobbly enabled. So please disable wobbly and let's consider that a different bug.

Unfortunately we can't backport a fix to precise when we don't know what the actual fix was. So it's incomplete for now.

vanvugt,

I've noticed that disabling fading windows, borders come back as well. However, I have to carry out this process every time I turn on my laptop.

For Quantal this was (probably) fixed by r3296 in lp:ubuntu/compiz/quantal (the lost patch was merged back to the packaging).
