Automatically starts AWN on login doesn't work on Ubuntu 8.04

I have selected the option 'Automatically starts AWN on login' but when I login into the system AWN is not started.
My Operating System is Ubuntu 8.04 working with compiz and Gnome.

I use this repository to install AWN:

Could you restart your X Session and attach your $HOME/.xsession-errors file?

This is $HOME/.xsession-errors after restarting the X session. I can't find
any reference to AWN and I ensured that the flag to start AWN on login was
activated.

Hi,

I can confirm this bug.

Using the same repository, AWN does not start on login but I have to start it manually even though I have the "Automatically starts AWN on login" option ticked. Is it possible that AWN is trying to get loaded before Compiz?

I also attach xsession-errors

I suspect this bug may be related to bug 223933. Could someone tell me were this autostart directory should be? I will try creating this manually and see if it make a difference.

I think this bug exposes the fact that compiz runs autostarted programs *before* it turns on compositing. I haven't seen this behavior with autostarting for either Metacity or Xfwm4.

FYI, the autostart directory is located at $HOME/.config/autostart

I created the autostart directory and AWN now automatically loads on login. I guess resolution of bug 223933 will also resolve this bug.
