First of all we agree this sucks. We are trying are hardest to address this
and have done a number of things to try and fix it for people. A couple
things to note:
1) From our estimates this is happening to something like .003% of users.
Still if it happens to you this is way too high (we want to hit 0!) but
errors like this are difficult for us to reproduce. As far as we can tell
people are getting a corrupted database but it is difficult for us to figure
out how. A simultaneous write to the database could be the problem but we
are having trouble reproducing this. Any other suggestions other users have
would be greatly welcomed. Our code is open-source so you can see if you can
figure out what might be happening.
2) We have implemented an automatic daily backup to your SD card since
version 2.13. This doesn't address the issue directly but provides a
recovery mechanism if it does occur. If you have lost your tasks you should
be able to restore tasks from your sd card and only loose a days worth of
new tasks.
3) Yes remember the milk users can restore tasks from the online database.
This can provide an additional backup mechanism even if you don't use
Remember the milk.
Any other input/feedback is welcome. Finally we are shortly leaving
launchpad.net/astrid and are instead going to be using github. Please visit
