The image referred to above is meant to be a suggestion for making the details page easier to use - especially for new users who don't know where things are yet (what's clickable, what isn't, etc).
Acknowledged: -- there are many factors, and media types that influence the user interaction design, so some of these suggestions might not apply. In principle though, the whole page could be significantly streamlined, and some of these suggestions can be applied.
