I have tried several times to install mmex for amd64 (mmex_0.9.4.2_amd64.deb, downloaded twice) with Ubuntu Software Center in Maverick Meerkat, all with the same result:

"There seems to be a programming error in aptdaemon, the software that allows you to install/remove software and to perform other package management related tasks."

The dialog box is titled "An unhandleable error occurred"

Update Manager reports system as up to date.
