While all that was said is correct, Debian seems not to move on this.

OTOH we have delta anyway and due to that Delta we are outdated.
It is time to merge this

And when we merge this it doesn't matter if we add one little change more.
We can then submit that change along the already open bug - maybe providing a patch makes it easier to accept.
