Bug Description

AllTray 0.7.4dev from lp:alltray seems to interact poorly with Metacity in Ubuntu Karmic with GNOME 2.28.1.

The problem is that when an application is hidden from view, and subsequently restored, clicking on any window in the window list (traditionally located at the bottom of the screen in GNOME) does not cause the window to raise. Instead, it becomes bold and is highlighted, as if it is demanding attention. ALT+TAB breaks in the same way.

In order to be able to use ALT+TAB or switch windows again with the panel's list of windows, one must click in a window that does not currently have the focus. This re-enables the ability to ALT+TAB and select other windows from the task bar area.

I am reasonably certain that this is a bug in AllTray and not in the GNOME stack somewhere.

What software versions are installed on that system (specifically, what
versions of GTK, libwnck, GNOME, and Metacity)? You can find that out
by doing:

dpkg -l|egrep '(libgtk2.0|libwnck|libgnome2|metacity)' \
   |awk '{print $2" "$3}'

(Note that that should be copied and pasted as two lines, with a "\" at
the end of the first line, just in case it gets mangled for some reason
or another.)

And just to confirm, you are saying that you can _not_ reproduce this
behavior that is reported, is that correct?
