Hi Nick,

I'm working with upstream to implement a solution that does not require blacklisting specific machines. I created a test kernel where the ips_monitor thread will exit if the ME doesn't update for more than 30s.

Can you test this kernel and post back the messages it writes to the log? It can be downloaded from:
