[RV530] black and white stripes at boot

Sometimes i get black-white stripes at boot, screenshoot included. i reboot one or twice and boots normally. this happens usually when i first turn on computer at day.

When does this happen? Only during the bios splash? Only after the drm loads? Also, are the stripes temporary? I.e., do you eventually get a usable desktop?
